This week, how about knowing a new cosmetic brand in town, not just because it is fun but they deserve to be known. KIKO Milano is an Italian brand founded by Antonio Percassi in 1997 and has been launched in India this year.
They come with a varied range of products starting from lipsticks, eye shadows and a variety of skin care products. The price ranges starts from a very reasonable rate of INR 350 to INR 800 and goes higher. I liked their product quality quite a bit when I tried them at the store. Their store is now open in Delhi NCR and Mumbai. You can visit their website and store locator here.
There is nothing better than lipsticks to intro a brand and I have chosen to review their lowest range to give you an idea about the goodness it has to offer, obviously the quality goes up moving to the higher ranges.
KIKO Milano Smart Fusion Lipstick
Price: INR 390
Quantity: 3 g
Packaging: I loved the packaging. Inside the black paper cover is a black tube with rounded edges, matte black cap that shuts perfectly and has the brand name written on it. The cover has the shade number on it along with the ingredients list but I am not sure if the tube actually contains the shade number as one of the tube has it and the other don’t. The tube overall has a nice feel to it and is travel friendly. They go by the logo of KK (second one inverted) which is also inscribed on the bullet – I like that. It is simple and classy.
Application: You will see a pointed bullet in the pictures that makes the application easy. I love to shape my lips without using a liner and love when a lipstick can do that itself. No complains whatsoever with that.
Pigmentation: Color saturation is another quality of these babies. I loved the pigmentation as it glided evenly on the lips. I got a light color and a dark color and both gives an opaque coverage to the lips. You can swipe once for a lighter balmy look or swipe 2-3 times for a full coverage. I have tried lighter shades as well and was satisfied buy the opacity.
Feel: They are not matte and have a creamy feel to it. It is perfect for the upcoming winter. Ladies with dry lips like mine would love it too. They are nourishing and soft but does not bleed. The lips look fuller due to the glossy texture. I love glossy finish in the winters. It kind of counters all the dry feels.
Stay: This is the disappointing part. Though it boasts of a longer stay, it lasted for about 3 hours on my lips. The lady at the store was pretty honest about it, so my expectation was no different when I brought them home. The texture ensures transfer to anything you kiss 😛 My tea cup had more of the lipstick than my lips after I finished the beverage. It fades from the center first leaving a light tint.
Ingredients: It is paraben free and involves new age technologies making it least prone to any allergic reactions. The bullets have a faint vanilla scent to it, not a distraction for sure. This range has 36 shades but the store did not have all the shades available.
Will I buy again? Yes but not this range. I will try the higher range and see what it has to offer.
Now that you know about another affordable brand in India, go grab a few KIKO products and let me know what you feel about them. I would love to see more brands coming to India as this is a rich market for introductions.
Happy lippie fellas!! :*
