Festive Flickers!

Hello everyone!!! I’m hoping you all are doing really good and gearing up with shopping and lights this Diwali. While you do that, I wanted to help you guys with some simple and easy makeup ideas that you can sport this festive season. Don’t have a lot of time to research? You won’t need a lot of time for these. Here you go-

I recently came across mono eye shadows in the Coloressence counter in Mall of India, Noida and loved the pigmentation when swatched. They are called Pearl finish eye shades and I picked 3 of them- Scarlett Red (a burgundy red color), Moss (a moss green shade that seems light green after application) and Electric blue (a cool blue color) and have used them for these looks.

  1. For the first look, burgundy red is the theme color. A brown from the Lakme Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette – French Rose for the crease and the Coloressence Scarlet Red for the lid. You can use either eye liner or a Kohl pencil to line your eyes. I used Loreal Paris Superstar Liner on upper lid and Lakme Eyeconic Kajal for the lower lash line to smudge and create the depth.   The golden from the same Lakme palette for the corners and completed it with Maybelline Falsies Push up Mascara. I used Lakme Bronzer for the cheeks to contour. For the lips, Lakme Absolute Lip  Pout Matte by Masaba in the shade Cotton Candy complimented the eyes perfectly. I had created another look with the purple shade from this range. View it here.
  2. The second look is too simple with a hint of blue. I used the Coloressence Electric Blue eye shadow on the upper and lower lids. Lined the upper and lower waterlines with the golden eye pencil that comes with the Loreal Paris Superstar Liner. You can use any other golden liner or a black one in case you want it less colorful. Maybelline Falsies Push up Mascara for the lashes completed the eye makeup. I used Maybelline Lip Gradation in the shade Orange1 for the lips and for the cheeks, I used Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Blush, Bronze and Brighten – Flush. It is a very basic, easy to create look to sport this Diwali.
  3. The Kohled look is smart, sassy and my favorite. I started with covering the upper lid with kajal and smudged it with my finger. To add the necessary festive sparkle, I applied the shade Black Tie from the Makeup revolution Flawless palette on both upper and lower lids. You will not need a liner here. The last step is to curl the lashes and apply mascara. Finally, I used the same Lakme + Masaba Lip color mentioned above for the lips. You can also use nude browns which look equally appealing. I did not use a blush here but just contour and highlights. You can skip the highlighting part if that is too much for you.
  4. This one was an experiment turned out well. The mentioned Moss eye shadow by Coloressence and the pink shade from the Lakme palette was put half each of the whole area of the eye lids, for both upper and lower. Do make sure that the color transition looks smoother and there is no harsh line in between. To do that, blend both the color a little together at the transition after application. I picked up a little golden in the brush while blending to give a little shimmer in the elevated area but this might not go with all color mixes. I loved this and will try more combinations to share with you all. The same Loreal eyeliner and Maybelline mascara was used to line the upper lid and enhance the lashes respectively.

Tip: Use any bindi as per your choice to seal the festive look. You will also see a picture of the earrings I wore here and they are from Lifestyle Stores.

Have a happy and safe Diwali everyone :* :*
